World Flag ~ And You

Together we can . . .

establish a symbol of
caring for all on our Earth ~
a World Flag ...

"In recent times, many countries have experienced disasters, natural and otherwise. Through this, we are reminded how closely connected we are to each other and our environment." Davson

It is very appropriate that we now establish a global symbol of caring,
a new World Flag. A flag that is for all who inhabit our Earth; a flag for unity of purpose, as we make efforts to live in greater harmony with each other and all that we share in this world.

And helping establish this new symbol of unity with all on our planet is Davson's 'friend' Gold Coast Benji, a Paul Harris Fellow and representative of unconditional love. Please join with him, as your participation will be historical, symbolic and fun, and can cost as little as $10.

Many groups, organisations, businesses, cultural and religious bodies are progressively committing and taking part; and a specially made 2.5m x 1.5m flag leads the way.

With your name on this special World Flag, you show your support for harmony and respect for all in our world, and you also could be assisting with the production of smaller versions of the world flag for international distribution.

Davson, the designer of the World Flag, and GC Benji will be leaving Australia in May to embark on a global adventure for inspiring tolerance and unconditional love for all. They intend meeting fellow Australian and World Flag Patron, Pat Farmer, as he crosses the Canada – USA border on his run from the North Pole to the South Pole raising funds for clean water projects.

This special launch World Flag, bearing the names of supporters, will progressively be displayed in public venues, art galleries and museums in countries far and near.

It is often good to remember, we all have much more in common than what separates us with our diverse cultures and climates, we all share one planetary home, our Earth, our World. The derivation of the design elements on the World Flag are common to all cultures.

Here is an opportunity to express that love for our home and all that abounds within its atmosphere.

There is an old Iranian (Persian) saying: . . . If there are only two coins, use one for bread
to nourish your body and the other for flowers to feed your soul.

A small world flag, that can roll up and fit in a pocket, can be given as ‘flowers for the soul’
in times of loss and strife. Especially, if that small gift comes with words of love and has symbols of unity with all that is existent in our World.

And we need your help.

Embarking soon on its first global odyssey is a very special 2.5 metre World Flag for peace. This is the flag launching the initiative for harmony with all on our Earth home, and it was sewn by Colleen Hegarty.

For the history and more detailed meanings of the World Flag design, please see lower down on this page.

Davson is progressively painting this flag with names of those who support having a World Flag for all who inhabit our Earth and its environment.

Have you ever dreamed of being part of a history-making event?

Gold Coast Benji, from the Hope Island Rotary Club in Australia, will be travelling with Davson the artist and this special World Flag on an ‘around the world odyssey’ in May - June 2011 to exhibit, gain endorsement for, and promote the new World Flag symbol.

They are intending to meet up with fellow Australian, Pat Farmer as
he crosses the Canada – USA border in early June.
Pat Farmer was the first Patron of the World Flag, and he is on his world-record making adventure to be the first person to run from the North Pole to the South Pole.
According to Benji, “Running all that way is a difficult way to do a seasonal migration.”

(The production and distribution of smaller World Flags will follow after this journey.)

And you can be part of all of it.

It’s time to embrace all the good in each other and our world.

This World Flag was designed as an expression of love and unity.

Most flags separate people into groups or countries. Even the United Nations flag does not include all people, as some countries are not members.

Sharon Davson and Colleen Hegarty on the night
this special launch World Flag was completed.

Davson designed this flag for ALL who inhabit our Earth, including other species with which we share our global environment. The design
is deliberately simple and geometric for easy reproduction under any circumstances. Children can easily draw it.

The red vertical represents spirit, fire and sun. It crosses the blue horizontal of calm, water
and moon. The white background celebrates the clarity and purity of clean air. Along the bottom is the Earth, which is illustrated by the 5 spiritual colours for humans as described in very ancient times; blue, red, white, yellow and purple.

Davson is committed to assisting greater harmony on our Earth.

This artist has previously started two charitable organisations to assist this goal, one for endangered species in 1990 and the other for world peace in 2000.

Two original prototypes for this world flag were made in 2004.

Since that time, Davson has modified the design slightly.

One is held at the Hikaru Memorial Museum collection in Takayama, Japan. It is accompanied by Davson’s painting With Gratitude Comes Growth and documentation on her art, life and work for peace and environmental initiatives.

The other prototype of the World Flag is in the collection of the Davson Arts Museum peace & environment centre in Newcastle, NSW Australia.

This flag has original, autographed handprints by numerous celebrities on it, including by international music entertainers Leo Sayer, Nana Mouskouri, Jimmy Webb; IndyCar and ChampCar racing champions Carl Haas, Jimmy Vasser, Sebastien Bourdais and Graham Rahal. It has been hung in the major retrospective touring exhibition of Davson's art titled Davson ~ World Leaders & Enlightenment .
This exhibition started being shown in public regional art galleries in Australia in 2008.

In his eight years on our Earth, Gold Coast Benji, has also proved his commitment to our global community. He has raised extraordinary amounts of money for a wide range of very worthy causes. He is possibly the only 'dog' in the world to have be awarded the Paul Harris Fellowship for his outstanding fundraising community service to others. He is definitely an extraordinary Peace Puppy.

(The late Maurice Davson, Sharon's father, was also a Paul Harris Fellowship recipient.)

Have fun, be adventurous, and join GC Benji from the Hope Island Rotary Club
by showing your support for all the good that is associated with the World Flag.

You may wish to ask others to join you and have a family or business entry, or one
for a club or organisation of which you are a member, a spiritual or other body, an environmental or political organisation, or be there with a group of friends under a collective name.

Pat Farmer is a Patron of this World Flag.

By demonstration of his intension to run from the North Pole
to the South Pole, running 21,000 kilometres through 14 countries with varied cultures and environments, Pat Farmer also shows us how united we are. That a continent can have enormous diversity, and yet it is continuous. If it were not for man-made borders, the transitions would be seamless. We are all connected.

On this journey he expects to raise 100 million dollars for Red Cross clean water projects.

Many of us take clean running water for granted.
Pat is running for clean water for the millions of those less fortunate.
What a wonderful man to have as a Patron for the World Flag.

You can send your best wishes to Pat for epic run ... without so much as a cold night, a searing hot desert wind or a blistered toe!

GC Benji will personally deliver them, as your name would be on the World Flag with him when he meets Pat at the Canada USA border crossing and at other different points along his amazing journey.

Please help us to fly the flag for world harmony and clean water.

There isn't a great deal of time to ensure you join him, so please
act to-day and pledge your participation on this special World Flag.
